POSITION
Summary:
This position will be responsible for supporting the Tioga Gas Plant Process Operations, performing analytical test procedures using TGP Laboratory Practices and/or equivalent industry standards.
Roles and Responsibilities
Collect and analyze plant water samples to ensure established chemical residual parameters are being met. These include but are not limited to: Cooling water system, water treatment system, steam and condensate systems
Collect and analyze all plant and field production samples for hydrocarbon composition using gas chromatographs per relevant GPA Standards and provide results to Houston Gas Accounting.
Collect and analyze all plant amine, glycol, sulfur, and other samples for operational control limits.
Maintain Hazardous shipping certification to cover the shipping of lab samples.
Alert Supervisor and and/or Operations personnel of all deviations from established operational conditions.
Perform routine maintenance on all laboratory instruments per established procedures.
Perform instrument calibrations per established procedures and/or vendor recommendations.
Ensure all laboratory results are accurate and timely.
Prepare test reports and distribute to plant personnel as appropriate.
Maintain Visible Emissions certification and observe TGP flares and stack opacity according to State mandated regulations.
Maintain Storm water permits. Test and record all storm water activities and report to State.
SKILLS/COMPETENCIES:
MUST demonstrate excellent laboratory skills and technique.
Ability to understand and comprehend directives and effectively communicate with plant management and other personnel.
Knowledge of MS Excel and Word is preferred and familiarity with Access and internet programs used to control Ambient Air monitoring stations.
General knowledge of Regulatory requirements and practices
Understand and comply with all EHS policies and procedures
Ability to work independently
EDUCATION/
Experience:
Demonstrate knowledge of gas processing and field operations fundamentals.
4-year bachelor s degree in chemistry, science or petroleum technology related subject matter.
